New Orleans Saints rocked by death of Dan Simmons as 'integral' staffer passes at 78

The New Orleans Saints are mourning the loss of longtime equipment manager Dan Simmons after his death at the age of 78 last week. Simmons, who was affectionately known as 'Chief' in New Orleans, spent more than half a century with the Saints after first joining as their head equipment manager back in 1973. After holding down that role for a staggering 42 years, the St. Louis native and Vietnam veteran retired in 2014 and took on a new position as an alumni and legends coordinator, which he remained in up until his passing on Friday.

Washington D.C.'s Metro system will be implementing a new tough-on-crime policy to ban riders who have committed sex crimes as President Donald Trump continues to crack down on the capital's problems. The plan, which is set to ban those who have been arrested more than once for a sex crime for up to a year, was approved Thursday in an 8-0 vote by the Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) Board of Directors.

A nine-year-old girl died after going to a San Diego dentist office for a routine surgery. Silvanna Moreno had dental surgery under anesthesia at Dreamtime Dentistry on March 18. The third grader was 'transitioned to a recovery room afterwards' and later discharged to her parents, according to the medical examiner's office. '[Moreno] remained asleep during her transport home. Upon arrival, she stayed sleeping and was transitioned into her bed at home,' said the medical examiner.
